How to make an image 100KB
- Add a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Keep the 100KB target or adjust it for a different limit.
- Compress and check the result size in the file queue.
How the 100KB target works
AIPics tests several quality levels and keeps the highest-quality result that fits below the requested limit. The result may be 96KB or 88KB rather than exactly 100KB because an encoder cannot produce every possible byte size.
WebP is selected by default because it usually gives the target search more room. Choose JPEG when the destination does not accept WebP. The source stays on your device and the downloaded file is a new copy.
When 100KB cannot be reached
AIPics first searches encoding quality, then automatically reduces pixel dimensions when that option is enabled. If the result still cannot reach 100KB without going below the safe dimension floor, the result report says that the target was not reached. Screenshots with text may need more data than photographs at the same dimensions.

Will the file be exactly 100KB?
The result aims to stay at or below 100KB. It can be smaller because encoders do not produce every exact byte size.
Which format is smallest?
WebP generally creates the smallest output and is selected by default.
Does AIPics upload the image?
