How to crop an image
- Choose an image from your device.
- Move and resize the selection, choose a ratio, enter coordinates, or rotate and flip the image.
- Choose JPG, PNG or WebP and download the cropped area.
Crop ratio and output size
A crop removes pixels outside the selected area; it does not stretch the remaining content. Use Free for manual composition or select 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9 or 9:16 when the destination expects a consistent shape.
The downloaded dimensions normally match the selected source area. Enter an output width and height when the destination requires exact pixels, or enable the circular PNG option for profile images.
Common crop ratios
| Ratio | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 1:1 | Profile images and square posts |
| 4:3 | Standard photography and presentations |
| 16:9 | Video thumbnails and widescreen layouts |
Image cropping FAQ
Does cropping lower image quality?
The crop keeps source pixels inside the selected area. Export quality depends on the chosen format.
Can I choose an exact aspect ratio?
Yes. Free, 1:1, 4:5, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9 and 9:16 selections are available, and exact coordinates can be entered.
Is the original image changed?
No. The crop is downloaded as a new file.
